Steps

  1. Choose fresh and tender grape leaves, wash them, and blanch them quickly in boiling water.
  2. Prepare the filling by mixing the ground meat with rice, chopped onion, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stuff each grape leaf with a small amount of filling and roll them into cylinders.
  4. Place the sarmalute in a pot, add water, salt, lemon juice, and a pinch of thyme.
  5. Cook over medium heat for 30-40 minutes, adding water if necessary.
  6. Prepare the sauce by mixing the sour cream with flour, salt, parsley, garlic, and lemon juice, then dilute with milk.
  7. Pour the sauce over the cooked sarmalute and let it simmer for another 5 minutes over low heat.
