Steps

  1. Wash the strawberries in water, hull them and cut the larger ones in half.
  2. In a large container, add the sugar, lemon and aspirin to the strawberries and leave to rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Cook in small batches for around 15 minutes, stir regularly and skim off the foam halfway through cooking.
  4. Test the consistency of the jam on a cold plate.
  5. Pour into the jars, turn them over and set aside in a cool place away from light.
