Utensils
1 knife1 sauce pan1 ladle4 jars 1L
Ingredients for 4 parts
- 750 g. sugar
- 250 ml. water
- 1 Kg. oranges
- 50 ml. lemon juice
Steps
- Wash the oranges thoroughly. Zest two oranges and cut the zest into thin strips. Peel all the oranges and cut them into pieces, removing the seeds.
- In a saucepan, mix the orange pieces, zest, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring regularly, until the marmalade thickens.
- Add the lemon juice and cook for another 15 minutes.
- Check the consistency of the marmalade by placing a small spoonful on a cold plate. If it sets quickly, it's ready.
- Pour the hot marmalade into the sterilized jars, leaving a small space at the top. Seal the jars tightly and turn them upside down until completely cooled.
