Instructions

  1. Wash the elderflowers in cold water to remove impurities and insects.
  2. Put the cleaned flowers in a saucepan and add the cut lemon zest and water.
  3. Put the pan on the heat and wait for the water to boil, leave it on the heat for another 10 minutes
  4. Once cooled, remove the zest from the lemon and leave the infusion in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours
  5. Once this interval has elapsed, separate the elderflowers from the liquid using cheesecloth.
  6. Bring the liquid and the sugar to a boil. Leave the elderberry syrup on the heat until it begins to set. You can optionally add lemon juice to taste during this process.
  7. When the elderberry syrup is ready, pour into sterilized bottles and store them in a cool place away from light.
