Steps

  1. Prepare the rice: cook the round rice in a saucepan according to package instructions.
  2. Slice the onion and cut the mushrooms into slices.
  3. In a pan, heat the sunflower oil and sauté the ground beef until browned. Add the onion and mushrooms and sauté for a few minutes.
  4. Add the red wine and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In another saucepan, melt the butter and add the flour. Mix until you get a roux. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly.
  6. Add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Pour the sauce over the ground beef and simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve the Hayashi Rice hot over a bed of white rice.
